About the roleAre you passionate about supporting children to achieve their full potential? Do you enjoy helping create a positive, inclusive learning environment? Ysgol Aberporth is recruiting Teaching Assistant - Level 1 to join the team from March 2026 for a period of 1 year in the first instance. This is a great opportunity to make a real difference in the classroom.
As a Level 1 Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide support to pupils, including those with additional needs, helping them access learning and build confidence.
- Attend to pupils' personal needs, including social, health, hygiene, and welfare support.
- Support the development and implementation of Individual Education and Behaviour Plans, as well as Personal Care programmes.
- Promote inclusion, independence, and positive behaviour.
- Assist with classroom organisation, preparation of resources, and wider school activities, including trips and out-of-class events.
- Work with teachers to support learning and manage pupil behaviour effectively.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience of working with or caring for children.
- Holds relevant qualifications and good literacy/numeracy skills.
- Is willing to participate in training and development, including completing the Teaching Assistant Induction Programme.
- Can use ICT effectively to support learning and classroom activities.
- Is positive, flexible, and able to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
- Understands the importance of safeguarding, inclusion, and teamwork.
