Johnstown School is an English medium primary school on the outskirts of Carmarthen town. The school caters for children from 4 to 11 years of age. There are 440 pupils on roll currently.

The governors wish to appoint an inspiring, forward-thinking, dedicated and dynamic practitioner to lead, challenge and continue to raise our aspirations and ensure constant excellent learning opportunities for all pupils.

We are looking for someone who has:
  • A clear vision for educational excellence and is passionate about improving pupils' achievements
  • Ability to build on current strengths and further develop the potential of pupils and staff
  • Ability to inspire, motivate and enthuse pupils and staff
  • High expectations in terms of pupils' progress, attainment and behaviour, ensuring that pupils' interests and well-being are at the heart of all planning work
  • Energy to maintain the rich and broad Curriculum opportunities, while incorporating the principles of the Curriculum for Wales in order to ensure very relevant learning experiences for all pupils;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, to be able to motivate and empower others.
