An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in Cwm Clydach Primary School, a thriving school community in the village of Clydach Vale.

Cwm Clydach Primary School is a happy and successful primary school with a strong caring and inclusive ethos situated in the community of Clydach Vale. The school currently has 184 pupils on roll split across 7 classes, which includes a Local Authority Nurture Provision class and a full time Nursery.

The Headteacher and Governing Body are seeking to appoint an innovative, motivated, and excellent teacher with ALNCO responsibility to work closely with our Senior Leadership Team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed and passionate ALNCO who is well organised, caring and willing to go the extra mile for our pupils, staff and parents; someone who is ready to take up the challenge and become an integral part of our community.

The successful candidate will:-
  • Be an excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations of achievement and behaviour for all learners.
  • Create an engaging learning environment that allows pupils to develop independence and resilience
  • Have excellent skills and confidence in the effective use of a range of AFL techniques and is committed to developing personalised learning for all pupils.
  • Work effectively within a strong team ethos both within and between schools, contributing ideas, energy and vision to school improvement initiatives.
  • Will be fully supportive of and involved in the life of the school.
  • Lead ALN within the school – planning strategically for ALN pupils’ support, inclusion, wellbeing and standards
  • Promote and develop inclusive learning and teaching throughout the school
  • Perform a key role on the SLT, showing leadership aspiration, reporting to them and the governors on ALN progress and standards across the school
  • Have shared accountability for the performance of all staff relating to and including the performance of vulnerable/ALN pupils across the school.
  • Ensure that the identified learning needs of all pupils are provided for in the classroom through a tailored intervention programme.
  • Develop and coordinate targeted programmes of support for ALN pupils
  • Ensure a successful graduated support programme exists across the school
  • Have high expectations of themselves and of children and an aspiration to continually improve
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills in order to work effectively, in partnership with staff, parents, governors and the local community.
