The John Frost School has a long-standing reputation for being a supportive and caring environment and we have seen significant developments in recent years, resulting in achieving excellent results for our students.

We are looking for an individual to join our team of Teaching Assistants who support the special educational needs of statemented students at The John Frost School. This is a term time post (38 weeks), working 8.30am – 3.30pm.

The main aim of this role is to support our teachers to deliver academic excellence and will involve:

• Assisting students with their educational and social development
• Providing support for individual students to enable them to fully participate in activities
• Assisting teachers with the maintenance of student records
• Building and maintaining successful relationships with students, whilst treating them with respect and consideration
• Having high expectations, ensuring that every student will make academic and personal progress
• Encouraging and promoting positive behaviour

The role requires a level of education equivalent to GCSE English and Mathematics. The successful candidate will be expected to carry out administrative and record keeping duties. It is desirable to have some knowledge of the needs of students with a statement of special educational needs and autism.
